Driver’s License Suspension or Revocation

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is responsible for administering drivers’ licenses to Pennsylvania residents. PennDOT has the authority to suspend or revoke driving privileges for many reasons, including criminal convictions, DUI refusals and point accumulations. However, you may have a valid reason for contesting PennDOT’s decision to suspend or revoke your license. It is important that you consult with an attorney as soon as you are contacted by PennDOT so that you do not lose your right to contest PennDOT’s actions.
As a courtesy to you, below we have outlined the schedule of points for Pennsylvania traffic citation convictions. An accumulation of too many points could result in your license being suspended for a substantial period of time or even revoked.

Service Station Certification Suspension or Revocation
Service station owners who perform safety and emission inspections rely on their Certifications as necessary income for their business. Having those Certifications suspended or revoked could mean a substantial loss of income that could cripple a business. Service station employees find that their Certifications are a condition of employment. Losing those Certifications could mean a loss of employment.
In certain circumstances, PennDOT has the authority to suspend or revoke a Certification if they have cause to believe that the service station owner or an employee has violated the law. If you are a service station owner or employee and you have been notified by your Quality Assurance Officer that your Certifications are being suspended or revoked, it is important that you immediately consult with an experienced attorney. In some instances, you may only have 30 days to appeal PennDOT’s action before you lose your rights.
